Sandra’s commitment to going above and beyond was on full display during a challenging trip. She was transporting Barbara to a clinic on a particularly cold and rainy day. Upon arrival, they found the clinic closed due to a miscommunication. But rather than leave Barbara in such unpleasant weather, Sandra made a decision that showcased her exceptional care and dedication.
With remarkable empathy, Sandra contacted dispatch, arranged to keep Barbara onboard where it was warm, and completed another scheduled trip. She returned to the clinic later, ensuring Barbara was safely delivered to her appointment once it had opened. This act of kindness left a deep impression on Barbara, who felt compelled to share her gratitude in a heartfelt letter.
In her words, Barbara shared that Sandra had given “120%” and treated her with “kindness and respect.” Sandra’s compassion made a difference in Barbara’s life; she expressed that she had grown more comfortable leaving her apartment, a major change for someone who considered herself a “hermit.”
