Roy Rice of MVT Canadian Bus Re-elected to Ontario Public Transit Association Board

DALLAS (June 17, 2014) – Today, MVT Canadian Bus, Inc. is pleased to announce Roy Rice, Vice President of Business Development has been re-elected to the Ontario Public Transit Association (OPTA) Board of Directors for a third term. OPTA is the provincial organization dedicated to public transportation, representing the views of its membership with regard to public transportation services and transit delivery to governments and other agencies.

With MVT Canadian Bus since 2011, Rice has worked in the transportation industry – both in the public and private sectors in Canada and the United States – for 36 years, beginning his career in 1978 with the Toronto Transit Commission as a vehicle operator. He has been involved with OPTA since 2008 and a board member since 2012. Rice is also a member of the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) Board of Directors.

“I am excited to continue as a member of the OPTA Board of Directors. I am passionate about public transit here in Canada and OPTA provides a platform from which to promote and advocate for public transportation and the use of public-private partnerships in transit delivery,” said Roy Rice. “I thank OPTA for re-electing me to the Board and look forward to another term.”
