Okaloosa County Announces New Transportation Partnership with MV Transportation

Shalimar, Florida (December 18, 2018) – The Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce a new partnership with MV Transportation, Inc. for public transportation services. The Contract, which begins on January 1st of 2019, shoulders MV with the responsibility of running the paratransit and fixed route services within the county. The Board of County Commissioners issued an invitation to negotiate this summer – resulting in four different bids. MV eventually won the contract. “We have high expectations that MV will lead transit systems into a more efficient and well-managed customer-friendly service,” said Commissioner Carolyn Ketchel. The new contract will total some $14.9 Million over the next five years.
