DALLAS (July 9, 2014) – Today, MV Transportation, Inc., announced it has been selected to continue operation of the City of Elk Grove, California’s fixed route (e-tran), dial-a-ride (e-van) and commuter service for a new contract term. MV has operated the service since 2005 when it became the first private sector contractor selected to run Elk Grove’s transit system.
Awarded by the Elk Grove City Council, the new contract began on July 1, 2014 and will extend five base years with three (3) one-year renewal options. Under the terms of the contract, MV will be responsible for e-tran, e-van, and commuter operations, as well as vehicle maintenance. The transit services will be operated from a city-owned facility with a client-furnished fleet of 59 vehicles. MV will employ 86 professional operators and staff to run the operation.

MV is an active community partner supporting the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation, the City’s Salute to the Red, White and Blue event, and the local food bank for which MV hosts Thanksgiving food drives.
