On August 5, 2025, MV Transportation proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of delivering safe, reliable, and innovative transit solutions.
MV’s story began in 1975 with a single paratransit van in San Francisco, founded with the mission of providing freedom of mobility to the elderly and people with disabilities. What started as a local service has since grown into the largest privately owned transit company in the United States, serving communities, universities, corporations, airports, and transit agencies across North America.
Throughout its history, MV has remained true to its founding mission while continuing to evolve to meet the changing needs of passengers and clients. This milestone is a reflection of the tens of thousands of employees who have dedicated themselves to world-class safety, outstanding customer service, and operational excellence—and to the trust of our clients and communities, who have partnered with MV over the past five decades.
Today, MV is embracing what it calls The New MV, an approach that builds on its history while looking to the future. This includes investing in employees through industry-leading training and leadership development, enhancing operations with The MV Way operating system, and advancing innovations such as artificial intelligence, microtransit, and zero-emission vehicles. These efforts are ensuring that MV continues to deliver outstanding service while preparing for the next 50 years of mobility solutions.
Reaching this golden anniversary is both a celebration of the past and a commitment to the future. MV remains focused on delivering for passengers and clients, supporting its employees, and driving innovations that will shape the transit industry for decades to come.
We are proud of what has been accomplished, grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey, and energized for what lies ahead. Here’s to the next 50 years of MV Transportation.
