DALLAS (October 9, 2014) – Today, MV Transportation, Inc., announced it was awarded a contract extension to continue providing administrative support services to the City of Detroit’s Department of Transportation (“DDOT”). Awarded by Detroit’s emergency manager, the two-year contract extension began on August 12, 2014.

Under the terms of the contract, MV will continue to provide administrative support to DDOT for Detroit’s public transit operations, primarily in the areas of grants support, procurement process improvements, paratransit management around industry best practices, and executive management support. MV’s four-person management team will be led by Deputy Director Paul Toliver.

“MV is honored to continue its administrative support services in Detroit and expand its partnership with the DDOT to serve the citizens of the greater Detroit region,” said Kevin Klika, MV President and Chief Operating Officer. “Together, MV and DDOT have made some significant improvements to the Detroit transit system over the last year despite a challenging environment, and we are committed to continuing to work in partnership with DDOT to further improve the Detroit public transit system and the rider experience” added John Catoe, MV Senior Vice President for Contract Management.

Celebrating 26 Years of Providing Service to Petaluma

For 26 years, MV Transportation has proudly partnered with the City of Petaluma to support safe and reliable transportation. Since beginning fixed-route operations in 2000, MV’s Petaluma team has played an important role in helping connect riders to work, school, medical care, and the everyday destinations that keep a community moving.
Over the years, that partnership has continued to grow. In 2014, MV expanded its service in Petaluma to include paratransit operations, further supporting access for passengers who depend on specialized transportation. More recently, the division has helped support several major service milestones, including the launch of Petaluma Transit’s fare-free pilot in July 2024. With that effort, Petaluma became the first transit system in the Bay Area to eliminate fares for all riders across both fixed-route and paratransit services.
