DALLAS (January 6, 2015) – Lisa Winston Hicks, Chairman of the MV Transportation Board of Directors, announced today that Brian Kibby has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company effective January 7, 2015.

Mr. Kibby is the former President of McGraw-Hill Higher Education, a leading innovator in the development of 21st century learning solutions for postsecondary and higher education markets worldwide. At McGraw-Hill, Mr. Kibby was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the higher education business and the development of market-leading digital tools, platforms and services. He began his career at the company in 1991 as an account executive and later served as president and general manager of McGraw-Hill Education in Australia and New Zealand.

“Brian comes to us with a track record that demonstrates his ability to understand markets, anticipate opportunity and collaboratively rally teams around a vision to create competitive advantage and success,” said Board Chair Hicks. “We are very excited about what Brian will bring to MV and look forward to a renewed focus and energy within the organization.”

As MV prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary, company founder Alex Lodde, who has served as interim CEO for the past four months, said it was important to the Board that the new CEO has a vision consistent with the Board’s belief that MV’s employees and clients are the company’s most important resources.

“I am confident in Brian’s ability to lead MV into the next chapter of our growing business,” Lodde said. “Brian is great at directly connecting with people from various backgrounds, a quality that not only builds trust, but gains respect from those around him. I personally look forward to working closely with him.”

Listed as one of 10 “CEO Ready Leaders” in a 2013 Forbes Magazine article, Mr. Kibby says he is excited to join MV during this milestone year. “MV is truly one of the great American entrepreneurial success stories. What the Loddes and the MV team have accomplished is spectacular,” he said. “Through dedication and hard work, MV has grown from humble beginnings into the largest privately held transportation company in the United States. It is an honor to be a part of this great company and to lead it into the next forty years.”

Mr. Kibby is a proud military veteran, having served in the US Army, and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from Western Illinois University. Mr. Kibby, along with his wife Beth, and their four children will relocate to Dallas this summer.

Celebrating 26 Years of Providing Service to Petaluma

For 26 years, MV Transportation has proudly partnered with the City of Petaluma to support safe and reliable transportation. Since beginning fixed-route operations in 2000, MV’s Petaluma team has played an important role in helping connect riders to work, school, medical care, and the everyday destinations that keep a community moving.
Over the years, that partnership has continued to grow. In 2014, MV expanded its service in Petaluma to include paratransit operations, further supporting access for passengers who depend on specialized transportation. More recently, the division has helped support several major service milestones, including the launch of Petaluma Transit’s fare-free pilot in July 2024. With that effort, Petaluma became the first transit system in the Bay Area to eliminate fares for all riders across both fixed-route and paratransit services.
