DALLAS (April 9, 2013) – Today, MV Transportation, Inc., announced it has been selected to continue operation of the City of Irvine’s iShuttle service for a new contract term. Irvine’s iShuttle provides morning and evening peak-hour service along four routes connecting the Irvine Metrolink Station, the Tustin Metrolink Station, John Wayne Airport, Irvine Spectrum, and the Irvine Business Complex (IBC). MV has operated the service since 2008.

The new contract term begins March 31, 2013, and will extend four base years with two (2) one-year renewal options. MV will continue to manage the operations and maintenance of the service.

“MV is proud to be selected for another contract term. This is an important service in the Irvine community, providing much-needed traffic congestion relief and a stress-free transportation option for citizens,” said Doug Gies president of operations for MV’s southwest region.

MV Transportation has installed DriveCam, a vehicle monitoring system on each vehicle to ensure safe operations and protect its drivers and passengers. In addition, iShuttle utilizes MV’s proprietary TimePoint software to monitor and report on-time performance for the service. In the new term, MV will install Automatic Passenger Counters and an On-Board video system at no additional charge.

Founded in northern California in 1975, MV Transportation operates more than 100 contracts throughout the state, including 25 in the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County area.
