MV Awarded Transit Contract in Baton Rouge

DALLAS (January 7, 2013) – Today, MV Transportation, Inc., announced it has been selected by the Board of Directors of the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) in Baton Rouge to assist the agency in the implementation of new transit service and route changes expected to be completed in March 2014 in support of the city’s current 70 bus operation and its expansion efforts. During the two-year contract, MV will also provide CATS with other transit management and operations support-related services.

MV’s services will be overseen by its project manager, William “Bill” Deville, former CEO and CFO of New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, who will also serve as CATS COO during the contract and report directly to the CATS CEO, Bob Mirabito. MV’s management and operations support services will include service and route planning, local community outreach and media relations, website and other technology-related design, facilities architecture and support services, as well as additional ad hoc transit operation functions. In this role, MV will assist CATS staff and manage subcontractors across various transit disciplines. MV’s small business subcontractors supporting the contract include Franklin and Associates, Hewitt Washington Architecture, Sharon Leader, and Diversified Transportation Solutions.
