MV Transportation to Operate New Shuttle Services in Los Angeles County

DALLAS (September 12, 2014) – Today, MV Transportation, Inc. (MV), announced it has been awarded three new shuttle services contracts in the County of Los Angeles: Athens and Lennox Shuttle Services; Avocado Heights, Bassett, West Valinda, and East Valinda Shuttle Services; and Florence-Firestone/Walnut Park and Baldwin Hills Shuttle Services. Awarded by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors, the five-year transit contracts began on September 1, 2014. Under the terms of the contract, MV is responsible for all functions associated with the shuttle services’ operations, including customer service, scheduling and dispatch, vehicle operation and maintenance, and driver training. The shuttle services will be operated from an existing MV facility with a fleet that includes four brand new compressed natural gas (“CNG”) vehicles equipped with DriveCam powered by Lytx, a video-based safety and compliance program designed to promote safe operations and protect drivers and passengers. MV will employ 21 professional operators and staff to run the operation. In response to the contract awards, Kevin Klika, MV President and Chief Operating Officer, said: “MV is very pleased with the County of Los Angeles Board’s selection, and we look forward to expanding our shuttle service operations to these three communities in the greater Los Angeles area.” Founded in California in 1975, MV Transportation operates more than 100 contracts throughout the state.
