MV Transportation Names Lisa Mead Transit Operator of the Year

Lodi, California-based operator selected for distinguished safety record and passenger focus

DALLAS, Texas (September 5, 2019) MV Transportation, Inc., a recognized leader in passenger transportation services, today announced that Lisa Mead from Lodi, California was named the national Katherine McClary Operator of the Year award winner.  Established to honor the memory of Katherine McClary, who was tragically killed in a bus accident in 2004, MV’s annual award recognizes the safest transit operators at the company.  Award recipients are chosen from approximately 15,000 MV operators across North America.

Mead has worked in both transit and paratransit operations in Lodi since 2000 and a part of the MV family since 2003.  She is currently an operator for the Lodi Grapeline and has a flawless driving record with no preventable accidents or passenger complaints during her 19-year transit career.

Mead was nominated by Julius LaRosa, the MV general manager who oversees the company’s transit operations in Lodi.  “It was easy nominating Lisa based on her sincerity and compassion,” said LaRosa.  “She does an exceptional job managing safety, customer service and on-time performance every day. We can always count on her.”

A formal presentation was held on August 27 at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi, where MV Transportation CEO Tom Egan and Lodi city and transit leaders jointly presented Mead with her award.  Also attending the event were Mead’s MV Transportation colleagues and friends.

“Lisa embodies the key attributes of safety and customer focus which MV was founded on over 40 years ago,” said Tom Egan.  “We are extremely proud to recognize her, and the exceptional passenger experience she brings to the Lodi community.”
